Upgrading an elderly system without the costs
of transferring to a new
package Many older 'bespoke' packages offer a directness and
efficiency unmatched by off-the-shelf packages, but they are often slower in
operation than their modern equivalents. CCS offer an upgrade path in which the
basic 'look and feel' of the existing system is re-created in a new
package.
CCS use MicroSoft Foxpro, a fast database
system using standard file formats, to build an updated version of the existing
software. At the same time a review of new requirements may be incorporated and
the existing data transferred to the new standard database.
